Next week, on Monday October 9, the City and the University of Washington, Tacoma, are going to be kicking off a Pacific Avenue Placemaking Project.

Recently, Pierce Transit conducted several open houses related to the High Capacity Transit feasibility study currently under way for Pacific Avenue as part of ST3. In association with this project, the City and UWT will be conducting community outreach to explore ways that we can leverage this potential investment in high capacity transit to achieve other community goals. This could potentially include everything from pedestrian safety improvements and streetscape enhancements, to things like signing and wayfinding, or updates to the City’s zoning and development standards for the area.
